Softbank purchased 23% of Betfair in early April 2006, valuing the company at £1.5 billion. The company was founded in June 2000, by Andrew Black and Edward Wray. In February 2016, Betfair merged with Paddy Power to create Flutter Entertainment. Business operations are conducted from its headquarters in London, alongside satellite offices in Ceuta, Dublin, Leeds, and Malta.
